گفتار اندر داستان فرود سیاوش
Prose Version
Kai Khosrow dispatched a mighty army led by Tus to wage war against Afrasiyab. Before their departure, the King explicitly commanded Tus to avoid the route through Kalat, where his half-brother Foroud lived with his mother, Jarireh. Khosrow feared that a conflict might arise between the proud Foroud and the Iranian army. However, Tus, seeking a shorter path, ignored the King's order and Gudarz's counsel, marching the army towards Kalat. When Foroud saw the vast Iranian host approaching, he was alarmed. His mother, Jarireh, reassured him that these were his kinsmen and advised him to seek out Bahram or Zangeh Shavaran, noble heroes who knew his father Siyavash, to establish peace and join them in avenging his father. Foroud, accompanied by his counselor Tokhvar, ascended a mountain to view the army. Tokhvar identified the banners of the great Iranian heroes. Tus, spotting them on the heights, was enraged and sent Bahram to kill or capture the "spies." Bahram climbed the mountain and confronted Foroud. Impressed by the young man's noble bearing, Bahram asked for his identity. Foroud revealed he was the son of Siyavash and showed a hereditary birthmark on his arm as proof. Bahram, recognizing the mark, paid homage to the prince. Foroud welcomed him warmly, expressing his desire to host the Iranian leaders and join the war against Turan to avenge his father.
