داستان کاموس کشانی
Prose Version
Kai Khosrow was consumed with grief and anger over the senseless death of his brother, Foroud, caused by Tus's disobedience. He stripped Tus of his command and refused to see him. The Iranian nobles, distressed by this rift, sought Rustam's help. Rustam approached the King and pleaded for Tus, arguing that while Tus was rash, he was loyal and essential for the upcoming war against Turan. Khosrow, respecting Rustam's wisdom, relented. Tus came before the King, ashamed and apologetic, swearing to redeem himself in the war against Afrasiyab. Khosrow forgave him and returned the royal standard to him. The Iranian army marched towards the river Shahd, where Piran Viseh and the Turanian army were encamped. Piran attempted to use diplomacy and deceit to delay the conflict, but the Iranians were resolute. The two vast armies faced each other. Arzhang, a Turanian champion, rode out and challenged the Iranians. Tus, eager to prove himself, accepted the challenge and struck Arzhang down with a single blow. Then Homan, another Turanian hero, stepped forward but tried to persuade Tus that commanders should not fight in single combat, suggesting they send other champions instead.
